A 47-year-old motorcyclist has been seriously injured after he crashed with a car in Mitcham this morning.
The accident happened just after 8am in Tamworth Lane, near to Mitcham Eastfields station.
The road was re-opened at around 11.45am. Bus route 463 is still expected to be facing diversions.
A spokesman from the London Ambulance Service said they sent an ambulance crew to Tamworth Lane after reports of a crash between a car and a motorbike.
They treated a man in Tamworth Lane who was "taken as a priority to a major trauma centre."
A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said road closures had been put in place while the police, ambulance and fire services dealt with the accident.
She added: "The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a south London hospital with leg injuries."
The accident took place between the junctions for Cambridge Road and Manor Road/Sherwood Park Road.
