On the seventieth anniversary of VE Day, when the Second World War in Europe came to an end, we've dug up some archive photos of celebrations in Merton.
Ann Tripp sent in this photo of a street party in Boyd Road, Colliers Wood.
This community photo was taken on VE Day in Errol Gardens, West Barnes. Picture: Merton Memories.
Families gather in Marian Road, Streatham Vale in this VE Day photo posted by Alan Brambley in the I Grew Up In Streatham Vale Facebook group.
This photo of a street party celebration in Leyton Road, Wimbledon was sent in by Jackie Theobold.
Her mother, two of her sisters, cousins, aunties and grandmother are all in the photo.
David Parsons sent in this photo from Mitcham. He wrote: "Not sure where but found this photo in amongst my Dad's old stuff, somewhere in Mitcham I am sure and assume my Mum is in there somewhere."
Professor Garry Hunt sent in the above two photos of a VE Day celebration in Wydell Close, Morden.
He was just two years old when he attended the party with his mother.
