This was the scene outside an industrial site this morning after a metal barrier pierced a car’s windscreen in a mystery crash.
London Ambulance was called to the Sita recycling site in Hallowfield Way, Mitcham at about 3.40am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision.
A 44-year-old woman was found in the impaled Ford Focus with a minor head injury.
She was taken to St George's Hospital as a precaution.
No arrests were made and no-one else was involved in the collision.

A Sita UK spokesman said the company is holding an internal investigation to establish what happened.
The crash scene was cleared this morning.
