Students have helped raise £1,000 after serving Christmas dinner to more than 100 people.

The Mayor of Merton, Councillor Krystal Miller, hosted the annual mayor’s Christmas dinner on Tuesday, December 10, with the help of students from South Thames College.

Money raised will go toward Colliers Wood-based charity Home Start Merton and the Polka Theatre.

Councillor Krystal Miller, the Mayor of Merton, said: "Thank you to everyone who supported my Christmas dinner this year, helping to raise almost £1000 for my two charities.

"I would especially like to thank the students at South Thames College Merton who put together a beautiful meal and helped to make the night a truly festive occasion."

The event was held at the college’s new catering academy and was attended by council staff, former Merton mayors, councillors and mayors from eight London boroughs.
