I live on Worple Road and have in the past written to Merton Council to complain about the speed of traffic travelling down this 30mph limit road.
It is shocking the speed that most vehicles travel and, while I appreciate it is a long, straight road, it is still a residential road with many schools on the side streets.
Most cars are travelling well over the speed limit, not only is it dangerous to pedestrians and other drivers it also creates a huge amount of noise pollution for those living here.
At night time this gets significantly worse and at times quite scary.
The council have responded to my previous comments that they cannot implement traffic calming measures due to the fact it is an access road for emergency vehicles.
However, from my point of view, putting something in place to slow drivers down will prevent future accidents and make a nicer environment for everyone to live.
