LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)
(CLAREMONT AVENUE AND WEST BARNES LANE. KT3) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020

1.The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice, that to facilitate gas main replacement works at the junction of Claremont Avenue with West Barnes Lane, KT3, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(a) enter or proceed in:-

(i) Claremont Avenue, between its junction with West Barnes Lane and its junction with Byron Avenue;

(ii) West Barnes Lane, from the south-western boundary of No. 188 Claremont Avenue southward for a distance of 11 metres; or

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:-

(i) Claremont Avenue, between its junction with West Barnes Lane and the common boundary of Nos. 153 and 155 Claremont Avenue;

(ii) the length of West Barnes Lane specified in paragraph 2(a)(ii) above.

3.The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Any vehicle in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and the Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

5. During the works vehicular traffic should proceed via:-

(a) West Barnes Lane and Burlington Road or vice-versa; or

(b) Burlington Road, Shannon Corner, Maiden Way, Maiden Junction, Maiden Road, Motspur Park and West Barnes Lane or vice-versa.

6. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

7. The Order will come into force on Monday 16th November 2020 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31st December 2020. However, the Order will remain in force for 12 months should further works be required.

(LEONARD AVENUE AND THE DRIVE. MORDEN)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020

1.The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice, that to facilitate gas main replacement works in Leonard Avenue, Morden, at its junction with The Drive, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(a) enter or proceed in Leonard Avenue, from its junction with The Drive to a point 25 metres west of the said junction;
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:-
(i) The Drive, the west side, from a point 12 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Leonard Avenue to a point 12 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Leonard Avenue; or;

(ii) the length of Leonard Avenue specified in paragraph 2(a) above.
