I’m sure everyone notices the odd stereotypical “chav” or what some of us like to think are the undereducated, underprivileged scum of society. We’ve all heard the ghastly rumours, and skimmed through at least one unbelievably horrific story, jammed in with all the rest of that somehow rather entertaining jibber-jabber that we encounter in our daily newspaper. No need to go into much more detail, because I’m sure you already understand what I’m talking about. The thing is, has society really become unsafe in comparison with 20 years ago?

From Community Correspondent Steve Wicks: Over 600 Wimbledon Division Guides, Brownies and Rainbows and guests celebrated the Centenary of Girlguiding UK with a special Thinking Day service at Sacred Heart Church on Edge Hill in Wimbledon. Among the guests were former Brownies, Guides and Guiders from the Division who have been invited to take a retrospective look at 100 years of Guiding and see what current Division members get up to today.
