The festival which celebrates and rewards the best talent from all over the globe was back for it's 10th year.
Screenwriter Jay Mullings who lives in Wimbledon won best Coming of Age Drama with his TV Pilot screenplay 'Tree House' at the International Filmmaker's Festival of World Cinema which was held at the West Ham FC Stadium in Upton Park last week.
The screenplay which is an urban contemporary drama is based in London and includes a diverse range of characters and cultures represented as both students and teachers at the prestigious Royal Eagletree institution which is an original school that was created specially for the series. When asked for the inspiration behind the screenplay Jay said, "I was just tired of the estate life being the dominant representation of black people in Britain. However, I do not believe in making something for just one race of people to enjoy. This series is for everyone it's very relatable on many different levels. So I got down to making it more than just a conversation. Britain needs something new on its screens."
