My name is Stephen Mould and I live in Wimbledon. I will be taking part in the National Lottery Newham London Anniversary Run on 20th July to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care (5 miles around the Olympic Park). I am raising money for Marie Curie nurses together with my family because they deserve all the support they can get. My mother was diagonosed with cancer last year. She underwent surgery of the spleen and then followed a course of chemotherapy which she seemed to be taking well. However, after Christmas her conditioned worsened, and we discovered that the cancer had spread vociferously. It was a great shock to our family. My mother wanted to stay at home and was looked after by my sisters Caroline, Elaine and my family. Through her final weeks we were fortunate to have the care and support of the Marie Curie nurses who would nurse her through the night and give my sister Caroline and my family much needed relief. The Marie Curie nurses are the most caring and understanding people you would ever want to meet and they looked a after my mother beautifully. They offered emotional and practical care to all of us so please give generously to these amazing nurses.
