Joseph Hood Primary School pupils hosted an exhibition of student artwork on Wednesday, 14 May, for parents, friends and the wider community.

The school's new sports hall was filled with a variety of artwork, all professionally framed and hung, to create an art gallery which was enjoyed by everyone who attended - including the Deputy Mayor and his wife who praised the quality and creativity of the pupils' artwork.

All students were invited to participate from nursery to Year 6, to create a themed piece of art linked to the topics each year group are currently studying. A wide range of techniques were used - from collage to mixed media, and watercolour to pen and ink.

Anita Saville, the Head Teacher said "The pictures all looked fantastic, we clearly have some talented artists in our school!"

Parents were able to purchase their children's artwork as a fundraiser towards the school's playground redevelopment.
