It would appear that the council’s waste management section are playing a new game with Pollards Hill residents. It is called "Guess what time your refuse will be collected this week." Here’s the reason why. Our refuse has been collected between 0700 and 0745 for years.
However on Friday 13th February the dustmen came round between 0600 and 0630. As a result many people hadn’t put out their refuse. A quick email to one of the ward councillors resulted in the team being sent back to collect the refuse. As a result, the following Friday (20th) people put out their refuse very early (perhaps overnight for some) only for the bags to be ripped apart since the refuse wasn’t collected until after 1200. I wonder what time it will be collected on 27th February? Perhaps it is a subtle hint in order to promote the green wheelie bins? I bought my own about 10 years ago.
