My name is Joe, I am a Wimbledon fan, I like football, I don't drink, I don't like being loud, I don't litter, I don't urinate in people's gardens, I don't kick people's cats...you get the idea.

Despite this, people seem to have the idea that football fans are loud, aggressive, drunkenly and abusive. Some are, yes, but the number is so small it's not worth thinking about, particularly for Wimbledon fans. The only people who can think this is what football fans are like clearly don't go to football matches.

It's even more unfair to brand Wimbledon fans like this. The club is the only team (re)formed this century to be in the Football League, has government recognised community schemes, several youth and women's teams as well as being the only team where every player wore rainbow laces for the stonewall charity (big thanks to Zoe is owed for that work on laces).

All these achievements have been done by the club, the club which was set up and is run by fans. The same fans that Wimbledon residents are often insulting. Calling us things like "louts" and a local councillor suggesting the crime rate would rise in the area because of football fans. The chances are you know someone who is a football fan. There's an even higher chance they go to football to watch football, not to drink, litter and damage nearby property that has often been portrayed.

I think the stereotyping by ignorant individuals has to stop, it's creating a huge barrier between people living in the same community, where one side feels they are above the other, just because one supports a football team. I urge anyone who thinks all football fans are the same to come down to Kingsmeadow. It's reasonably priced, and I promise you will enjoy yourself providing you don't look to be offended.

Thank you.
