All should agree with Michael Barltrop’s support (Many helped to prevent evictions, December 18) for the Wimbledon Guardian which, is very important for the local community, not least by supporting local democratic principles.
But if Michael Barltrop has any influence in the local labour Party, as he seems to think (?), to support local democracy will he promote his support for the Guardian by insisting My Merton cease publication - which has previously been and admitted-used for propaganda purposes?
In the same publication issue, when Siobhain McDonagh ‘raises her head above the parapet’ she seems to try to influence the ‘internal’ official enquiry into allegations made against the former Borough Commander. Is this another example of politicians getting too close? For truth to emerge it is extremely important, and with the interests of honesty, integrity and justice for all to the fore, not least the enquiry itself, such enquiries take place without any influence from those not party to it.
