Regarding Jovita Kaunang’s recent letter, describing how her health is being affected by wireless radiation from nearby phone masts, neighbouring Wi-Fi and smart meters (Wi-Fi misery, December 11), all of the symptoms she mentions are well documented to be the effect of this pulsed microwave radiation.
I alerted Merton Council back in 1995 when I prepared a document outlining these dangers for the Environment Forum. Sadly, no one was interested or took any notice. Back then I warned of a massive rise in Cancer and Alzheimers cases. Unfortunately my prediction 20 years ago has now become a reality!
Sadly, for Public Health England this is a matter of policy governing science as they neglect to inform the public that even the WHO has classed wireless frequencies as a 2B Carcinogen. All we hear from PHE is that they are keeping the subject under review, without initiating any scientific research on the effect of these wireless frequencies themselves. This is of particular concern with regards to our children, who are forced to sit under Wi-Fi in their class rooms from an early age!
There is a huge amount of peer reviewed scientific evidence regarding the health effects mentioned by Jovita. The BioInitiative Report contains 2000 such studies – and yet the public is still ignorant and will put most symptoms down to stress. Even the insurance industry has taken note and considers pulsed microwave frequencies from wireless emissions as an Emerging Risk. Legal cases have been won in Europe and there are many in the pipeline in the US. The Council of Europe also warned of any further increase in this electromagnetic pollution.
Be aware of the word smart in any of your gadgets and in particular of smart meters! For info on the risk to your health and your property ( Yes they have caused fires in the US and already cost lives!) look up www.stopsmartmeters.org.uk

Fortunately a much greener bio-compatible alternative to microwave technology called Li-Fi has been in the pipeline for many years and is explained on our website but unless there is the political will to introduce this new, much greener and faster technology, we will all have to suffer the effects of this steadily increasing electromagnetic pollution.
I urge Merton Council to opt for the new Li-Fi technology using light instead of introducing Wi-Fi on lamp posts.
