During periods of heavy rain, the streets of Merton have recently become a hazardous place for pedestrians.

Large pools of rainwater collect above blocked drains in the roads only to be sprayed onto the pavements and pedestrians by passing vehicles.  At the start of September local councillors were advised of such flooding in Swains Road, Victoria Road, Wilson Avenue and London Road, yet no action seems to have been taken. The flooding by the bus stops near the Figge’s Marsh surgery in London Road is particularly bad, but I am sure that your readers will have their own numerous examples.

What happened to preventative maintenance, or was the Autumn leaf fall not anticipated?
