Letter to the Editor: Appalled by thought adult education centre may be closed
I have read the article in the Wimbledon Guardian and am appalled at the thought that MAE may be closing.
I have been learning upholstery for more years than I can remember with probably the only and best teacher in the south east of England. The teacher is keeping a very old and dying skill alive. Her classes are always over-subscribed.
If anyone paid a visit to Whatley Avenue any day of the week they would see first-hand how invaluable are the classes to able and disabled folk alike from the borough. The learning, friendship, encouragement and well being of all who take classes cannot be overestimated.
