Your news item on the 're-organisation' of youth mental health services in Merton (Youth mental health overhaul, Wimbledon Guardian, September 11) tells us that child mental health services in Merton are being reduced and that specialist services are to be moved out of the borough.
I thought this service was for young people with mental health problems living in the borough and paid for by organisations based in the borough - the Local Authority and Merton CCG.
It would be interesting to know the thoughts of the Merton based commissioners. Were they really in favour of these changes?
What about the Merton based professionals - GP's, teachers and social workers who make referrals?
Are they in favour of such a radical re-structuring? Were these groups adequately consulted? There is clearly a debate to had here and I hope that the interested parties will contribute by making their views known to the public.
