Christine Jones (New junction layout is a nightmare, Letters, September 12) is totally right.
I despair at this council's attitude to anything to do with traffic in the area.
Recently, I took it on board to contact the council's traffic and highways department over the continuing frustrations felt by residents etc., in Abbey Road, SW19.
The road is being used as a cut through to Merantum Way/Merton High Street, and, because the lane is slightly narrow at one end, motorists become irritable and start to swear or use the horn too much.
The other day, a child was nearly a victim of a stupid inconsiderate driver, who then started to call the child vulgar names!
In response to my complaint, traffic and highways have just sent an automated reply.
This council gets away with charging an exorbitant council tax and does nothing worthy of it.
