The letter from M Smith (Ticket woe, August 7) complains about a fine for stopping in a yellow box junction.
It really is very simple to avoid such fines when going straight ahead: don't enter the junction unless the exit from it is clear. Then, if the traffic stops suddenly, you can still leave the box junction and you won't block other drivers trying to cross the junction.
Shame on M Smith and previous complainants for not knowing the Highway Code.
