I wish to take nothing away from Chris Frost and her memory.
She is a person I liked very much and did a great job.
However I keep reading that she founded the Merton Volunteer Service/Bureau but I should like to point out that my father Alec Briggs MBE (for social work) was very much also the founder along with Chris.
A modest man who never sought the limelight but whose name appears in the entrance to Vestry Hall.
There is also a seat in the garden which reads ' A man who built communities'.
That surely says it all.
He should not be forgotten also and never was by Chris, who kept in touch with our family until her sad death.
