I have seen your letter in the Wimbledon Guardian dated July 3rd I myself was very surprised to receive this week a penalty charge notice from Merton Council.
It is dated 30/06/14 for £130 for entering a box junction whilst turning left from a side road, Armfield Crescent onto London Road, Mitcham, just by the library, when I saw the box junction there.
I thought great, now us drivers can get out onto the road easier, as it is so hard to get out onto the main road.
There is no sign telling you that you cannot enter it, and I did not know that.
I thought it was there to help us.
I am so annoyed with Merton Council. It's not as if we are blocking oncoming traffic.
Why not put a keep clear box there?
They are out of order, it's not placed at a junction!
I will be writing to them also.
