Too many attendee’s at A & E’s is the reason for developing Local Care Centres similar to the Nelson Hospital.

By reducing the number of less serious cases at A & E it will improve waiting times when GP’s surgeries are closed.

This frees up the very efficient A & E departments for more serious cases, household, road and industrial accidents. The Trauma Centre at St George’s is an excellent facility.

It offers urgent screening and operative attention to very serious head injuries in 3 hours.

The excellent 111 service filters patients who are not sure how serious their ailment is or do not have a GP. It directs the patient to Local Care Centres, self presentation at A & E or in very serious cases arrange for Paramedics and ambulances.

"Older people are causing all the problems". This is not true. Older people, make up about 26% of the population. Older people are more likely to be registered with a GP., and wait and see the GP., and hospital appointments.

Comments, mainly by Union Representatives, that St Helier Hospital is closing, is not true.

You will not stay in St Helier for days, but have elected day surgery or ongoing care and return home immediately. Care in the home will enable swifter recuperation. New medicines and equipment’s will speed this.

There are many changes that will happen to the NHS and it will produce many efficiencies, and better services.
