Letter to the Editor: Too many security guards at Wimbledon station
I am writing to complain about the unnecessarily high number of “security guards” at Wimbledon station on Platform 5/6 in the mornings.
I feel that it is a waste of our money to pay for often up to eight individuals in high vis to stand in pairs against the security rails apparently doing nothing of any use or value.
Surely just one man at the top of the stairs and one on the platform for customer safety would be sufficient, and think of the money we could save and spend more wisely such as on a more regular service or working toward less delays.
I hope that now safety barriers are erected these people can be deployed elsewhere.
