This week the campaign begins for the election of councillors who will run Merton for the next four years. I would urge your readers to support their local Conservative candidates on 22nd May.
Merton Conservatives have committed to reducing the Council Tax by 10% if elected to control the borough.
The team of Conservative London Assembly Members at City Hall and the Mayor have already started to cut the GLA precept, and working in partnership with a Conservative Council could ease the burden on hard pressed residents even further.
This is in addition to vastly improving transport on the Northern and District Line tube as well as Tramlink, and getting a new S1 bus route service into the Lavender Field area of Mitcham, pledging more policing of Wimbledon town centre, and planning regeneration of Morden and Mitcham.
If you want good quality services locally, more decent homes and a real commitment to raising customer service only the Conservatives can deliver in Merton and at City Hall.
Richard Tracey
Conservative London Assembly Member for Merton
