Letter to the Editor: Merton Council forgot to repair Wimbledon town centre pavement
The council and its contractor FM Conway were very proud of the Wimbledon Town Centre Olympic upgrade according to their websites.
But the pavement on Wimbledon Bridge did not last and soon became cracked and deformed.
The council then told me it would be replaced without extra charge to residents. However, they ignored my emails asking for updates for over a year.
It was only when I asked a question at the council meeting did they come clean and confirmed they had totally forgotten about it.
Now we are only promised a patch up. So much for Councillor Andrew Judge’s recorded comments about the council’s expertise in this area.
