I recently ordered a 5kg bag of cat biscuits online, to be delivered by Parcel Force.

However Parcel Force (not for the first time) delivered it to the wrong address about a quarter mile away.

Here’s the reason why.

Just over ten years ago, Moat Housing built about 24 new houses in my road (Yorkshire Road). The address of the new houses is Ramones Terrace which is numbered 1-24.

However because the signage is very poor (twenty feet up the wall) strangers often assume that 1-24 Ramones Terrace are 1-24 Yorkshire Road.

Also the signage for Yorkshire Road itself is very poor and also is about twenty feet up the house wall.

As a result, over the last ten years, a number of things I have ordered have been wrongly delivered to Ramones Terrace.

Thankfully the Royal Mail gets it right because they deliver on a regular basis.

I can not be the only in Yorkshire Road affected by this problem. I don’t know who allocates addresses to new properties, but clearly it has gone wrong here.

Mike Tilcock; Yorkshire Road, Pollards Hill. (Not Ramones Terrace)
