Winger Aseli Tikoirotuma will quit Harlequins at the end of the season to join London Irish, having struggled to make a significant impression in one season at the Stoop.

The 28-year-old Fijian's arrival from Super Rugby side The Chiefs was much heralded last summer given his reputation and experience in the southern hemisphere.

Tikoirotuma, who won Super Rugby titles in 2012 and 2013, has made only 13 appearances for the club and scored just two tries this term.

But director of rugby Conor O'Shea insisted he had left a memorable mark at the club.

“We are all grateful for Tiks' contribution to us this season," he added.

"His try during our win over Leinster at the Stoop in December will live long in the memory.

"I know he is looking forward to linking up with his old coach Tom Coventry. He and his family move with our best wishes."
