Lyn Jones has added a bit of international experience to his London Welsh side as they look forward to kicking off their season in the Aviva Premiership, writes Tom Ambrose.

The Dragons have recruited Romanian prop Paulica Ion and Russian second row Kirill Kulemin for their first season at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium.

Ion is a Romanian international who joins on a season-long loan from London Irish, where he has spent the past three seasons, making 64 appearances, scoring one try.

Kulemin, capped 18 times by Russia, joins from French club Catres, where he has been for the past four seasons.

Head coach Jones said: “They are two fine signings who will help our squad to perform to its maximum ability.

“They are boys with lots of experience at the highest level in the English and French leagues and can bring out the best in other players.”
