Former Scotland international Gordon Ross may be set to make his 100th appearance for London Welsh at Molesely on Saturday, but he still has the desire to improve.
The 35-year-old assistant coach and fly half has been in inspired form for head coach Justin Burnell’s side, with the Exiles sitting six points clear at the top of the Championship table after last weekend’s 28-0 win over Ealing Trailfinders.
“I still love playing the game, it’s enjoyable,” said Ross.
“This is my fifth season at the club and, touch wood, I’ve been fortunate and not to miss too many games.
“Some of training isn’t too enjoyable now, but the games are great fun and I’ve still got my competitive edge which keeps driving me, and I still strive to improve.
“The stick I get in the office on a Monday or Tuesday after a poor game means I’ve got to keep on my toes to make sure I improve for the week after.”
