London Scottish bounced back from opening day defeat to Moseley with a five try demolition of Ealing.

Number eight Mark Bright bagged a double to go with scores from Drew Locke, Jason Harries and James Hallam as the exiles ran out 37-17 winners at Ealing – their first triumph of the campaign.

It moved head coach Peter Richards’ men up to fourth in the Championship table and winger Matt Williams admitted it was an important result “After last week’s disappointment we trained hard because we knew we had to perform,” he sad.

“This is a very competitive league and we cannot afford to drop any points.”

London Scottish prop Ben Prescott who made 21 appearances last term has been forced to retire due to a neck and shoulder injury.

South African prop Kurt Schonert has signed as his replacement after a spell training with Gloucester over the summer.

Scottish host Bedford Blues at the Athletic Ground tomorrow.
