Fly half Lee Millar will be out to hold his nerve on his Championship debut at Bristol on Sunday.

The 21-year-old missed last weekend’s curtainraiser at Allianz Park that saw Scottish thrash league new boys Ealing Trailfinders 44-13 to top the table.

But he is in line to make his first start for his new club this weekend, following a summer switch from Irish side Gala.

And he is hoping he can keep it all together.

“I cannot wait to get out there and experience my first game in the Championship,” said Millar “My nerves were jangling when I was told I would be playing, but I am going to really enjoy it.

“They will be coming out all guns blazing to get their first win of the season.

“We have just got to step up and kick-on from last week and get another win under our belts.

“It was a physical encounter for Bristol against Cornish Pirates, so I expect it to be a similar match and for me to get hit a few times.”

Scottish ran in five tries against Ealing last week, but Millar reckoned the scoreline did not tell the full story.

“Results last weekend indicate it’s going to be a pretty tough league this year with plenty of upsets,” he added.

“We need to concentrate on our own affairs and worry about nothing else.”
