Crisis club London Broncos may be calling time on their stay in west London, but their stay may yet prove to have left a lasting legacy in the area, writes Stuart Amos.

The club, who will quit Harlequins’ Stoop stadium before the start of next season’s Super  League campaign,  confirmed this week they were bidding to avoid going into adminstration  with talks over a new home at an advanced stage.

Fears over the sport’s viability in London may yet prove unfounded and it certainly appears in rude health at Twickenham Academy.

The  school  was crowned Richmond borough rugby league champions at Twickenham RFC last month and will progress to the London quarter-finals with an unbeaten record.

The Richmond Schools Sports Partnership hosted event saw the academy beat Hampton Academy, Grey Court, Richmond Park Academy and Teddington School.

Twickenham topped the table with four wins from four games and only conceded one try compared to the 11 they ran in during the course of the afternoon.
