Surbition’s U18 boys needed penalty strokes to finally see off a determined Ben Rhydding side to claim the U18 National Cup at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Monday.
Dan Boden, Owen Williamson, Tom Dodwell and Noah Darlington put Surbiton 4-1 up, before Ben Rhydding battled back to level matters.
Surbiton held their nerve to win the shootout 2-1, with keeper Josh Mitchison the hero.
Their exploits to the National U16 Cups won by the club's boys and girls teams.
