Claygate racer Ollie Millroy says his AAI Motorsport can close the gap to Asian Le Mans Series GT3 leaders Clearwater Racing, writes Stuart Amos.

The 25-year-old and team-mates Dirk Muller and Jun San Chen secured second place in the second round of this year’s series in Sepang on Sunday – despite their BMW Z4 GT3 starting from the back of the grid.

Clearwater’s McLaren 650S GT3 claimed a second win of the series to top the standings ahead of the third round in Thailand next year.

“Fighting from the back is never easy, especially in a field this competitive, so we’re extremely proud of our performance,” he said.

“The McLaren has been very quick so far this year, but we’ll give it a serious run for its money next time out.”
