Busy man: Surbiton's Australian coach Todd Williams has added to his squad in a bid to compete at home and abroad this season
Surbiton Hockey Club has confirmed the arrival of a second major overseas’ signing for the forthcoming Men's Hockey League Premier Division campaign.
Former German U21 international Robert Marx has signed a deal to switch from German Premier Division side Berliner, a former club of new Sugden Road clubmate David Beckett.
The 27-year-old goes straight into the squad to face another German top flight side, Mannheimer HC, in two pre-season friendlies in Long Ditton this weekend.
Beckett also plays having missed out on selection for the England squad taking part in the Unibet Men’s Eurohockey Championships, which start at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in Olympic Park on Friday.
