Undefeated boxer Tony Chaplin says he is in the best shape of his life ahead of his return to action in the Queensbury Boxing League (QBL).

Chaplin, 29, from Carshalton, will lace up the gloves for the first time in more than two years on Saturday to face light middleweight rival Kieran Wallis at the QBL’s fight night at the Effingham Park Hotel.

His last appearance came in 2013 when he beat Artif “Hitman” Daniels on points before taking an extended break from the sport to concentrate on work and family.

However, since his return to the gym Chaplin has rediscovered his love for the sport and will be more than ready for Wallis come fight night.

He said: “It's been a long time since I boxed in the league, but I’m feeling in great condition and I could literally fight tomorrow, I feel that ready.

“Since my last training camp I’ve teamed up with trainer Ian Johnson down at the Like 2 Box gym in Redhill and I’ve really been put through the mill to get myself back into fighting shape, and for the past 10 weeks I’ve been putting in the work in preparation for this night.

“Training wise I’ve been working on lots of things, but for this camp I’ve been getting in loads of sparring with some of the show's other big names which has really helped, and I think that’s going to show on the big night."
