A very hungry but determined Charlie Edwards has issued a call on all undefeated fighters to take him on in his ambitious bid to clean up the domestic flyweight division.

he 22-year-old from Beddington pocketed his third straight professional victory after outpointing experienced journeyman Brett Fidoe 60-54 over six rounds at York Hall last week.

The former European Amateur bronze medallist produced flashes of quality and looked comfortable throughout.

There are currently seven in a small pool of 11 boxers, who are currently unbeaten in the domestic flyweight division.

And Edwards is desperately keen to take away the English title from current holder Louis Norman along with his '0' and that match-up could happen on September 12 at The O2, North Greenwich.

"It went really well," said a delighted Edwards after last week's triumph.

"I knew he (Fidoe) was a tough, durable opponent. He hasn't been stopped in 22 fights, so it was really about getting the rounds under my belt.

"I could have stepped it up, I could have worked a bit more.  I was hitting him, I was hurting him, but I decided to take a little thing, a little blow here and there, but I needed to get these rounds under my belt.

"This fight and the opponent was the perfect step up. Eddie Hearn (Edwards' promoter) has made my matches great. I haven't even had an easy easy match since I've turned professional.

"I'm learning my trade and I'm moving through this division quickly."

He added: "I'm looking for Louis Norman and I want him. I want him for that English title bad and I know I can beat him.

"I've looked at Fidoe's record who I just fought and a lot of people have dodged him including Waleed Din and that's another name I like to step up and take away his unbeaten record.

"We're in the flyweight division so why not make these fights and let's make it entertaining for the fans. Let's get these undefeated records go in straight away.

"Eddie's keeping me busy and that's what I want. The money's rolling in, I'm getting better and better as my fights go on. The more rounds I do the better I get."

Meanhwile, Crystal Palace super-middleweight Craig Richards says he can take the division by storm after stopping James Child inside 50 seconds on his professional debut on the same card as Edwards' fight at York Hall last Thursday.

“When you get to a certain level the aim is to be a world champion ,” he said.

“I'm ready and I feel like I can storm through the super-middleweight division.

“But right now, it's just one step at a time and talk to my management.”
