Teddington Swimming Club head coach Ed Sinclair says England call-ups for Sophie Fussell and Anna Smail will be a major boost to their confidence.
Fussell and Smail were this week named in the England squad heading to Moscow to take part in the Energy Standard Cup as part of the ASA England Talent Development Programme.
The pair, who both top the British rankings in their respective events and age groups, will compete in at least three events and relays against athletes from Russia. Italy, Spain and Hungary.
Fussell, 13, will specialise in the breast stroke events with 12-year-old Smail concentrating on the freestyle.
“We are producing some great home grown talent from TSC and we are becoming one of the more recognised London clubs,” said former Olympian Sinclair.
“This experience will help these swimmers hugely to gain confidence and will also benefit the club by the other swimmers believing that they can also swim at the top level.”
