Croydon boxer Rakeem Noble is gearing up for his biggest fight in his professional career.
The 24-year-old takes on Lewis O’Mara on December 13 for the vacant British Masters bronze light-welterweight title at York Hall, Noble boasts a 100 per cent record [6-0-0] since signing for Goodwin Promotions and making his pro bow in September last year.
It is a different story for O’Mara [3-4-0], who has lost his previous two bouts – however, Noble knows stats on paper count for very little.
New pro on the boxing block Edwards declares: "It's show time"
“On paper I am the shining star in this fight, but you should never take a fighter on their record,” he said.
“For a start, you don’t know who he’s fought, and so you have to take every fight as a serious contest.”
Noble, who is making the step up to eight rounds, added: “I have been working hard on my core strength, looking to improve the quality of my boxing, not just the quantity.
“There is no doubt this is the biggest fight of my career so far, and I am ready for it.”
