Teddington School’s girls swim team will walk in the foot steps of Olympic legends later this month when they compete at the English Schools team relays finals, writes Stuart Amos.

Teddington Swimming Club members Anna Fisk, Elin Jonsson, Mika Vennema-Osborne and Thalia Poaros booked their place at the finals when they finished second in both the freestyle and medley relays at the London Schools Championships last month.

More than 180 girls teams from state and independent schools enter the championships at the qualifying stage nationwide and their freesetlye time was fast enough to qualify for the intermediate girls freestyle finals at the Aquatic Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

It is the second year in succession Teddington, called up from the reserve list of competitors this week, have qualified for the finals on November 22.

Teams from Waldegrave School (intermediate girls freestyle) and Lady Eleanor Holles School, Hampton (junior) girls freestyle and medley), have also reached the finals.
