Twickenham’s Simon Low may have secured the North Gloucester Club Championship mini twin title last week, but for him the hard work starts now.

The 27-year-old, on a Suzuki SV650 machine, won both rounds at Pembrey earlier this month to claim the title with one race weekend remaining at Thruxton.

Low, whose stab at the British 125cc Superbikes series in 2012 was cut short due to a lack of finance, is hoping to fund a full season in the British Supersport championship next season.

He has shelled out close to £5,000 to fund his campaign this term and needs to raise a minimum of three times that amount to get on the startline in 2015.

And the Black & Blue Racing rider is confident that if he can get on the grid, the results will soon come – even if he has to build the bike himself.

“This is a big push towards where I want to be. I’m over the moon,” he said this week.

“If I can get the budget together and the right machine I am confident I can string some good results together i9n the British championship, but it is really competitive.

“It is the top level for 600cc bikes in this country and it is dog-eat-dog in that series.”

He added: “I think I have proved I can win at this level. I’ve got nothing to prove by going back to defend the title.

“If I cannot get the budget together to start next season I am going to throw everything into doing part a season. I’ll put together my own bike if I have to.”
