KORFBALL: Mitcham have won their second national title in three years. The title was secured after main rivals Invicta Sharks lost 11-10 in a controversial match against Croydon Trojans. Meanwhile, Mitcham beat Bec 20-7, and will play in next season's Europa Cup in Belgium.

DIVING: Merton School of Diving and Trampolining Springboard divers again showed they are Surrey's top club by winning the Jimmy Aldous Trophy for most aggregate points in the 1m age group competitions.

FOOTBALL: Raynes Park Vale stayed ninth in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League thanks to a 1-0 win over Ash United at Grand Drive on Saturday. The only goal came from Joel Rogers' 28th-minute spot kick after he had been fouled. But Vale were grateful to keeper Ed Cornwall for a second-half penalty save.JUDO: Siam Wilson from Mitcham has been named in the 25-strong British judo squad for the 2006 Fighting Films GB World Cup for Women, which takes place at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on April 1 and 2.
