AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown has decided against offering trialist midfielder Clydie Roberts a Dons contract.
Roberts, who was Canvey Island's player of the year last season, has spent three weeks trying to convince the Dons boss to offer him terms at Kingsmeadow after impressing Brown in a trial match during the club's first pre-season training session.
And the central midfielder, who is Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe's cousin, looked impressive in his first Dons outing, coming on as a second half substitute, in the 4-1 pre-season friendly victory over Tooting & Mitcham last Saturday.
But it is now understood Brown has opted not to offer Roberts a first-team contract.
The Dons boss said: "I've spoken to Clydie about the situation and I'm going to sort something out for him - but to be honest it'll be at another club."
