Met Police youth team goalkeeper Kallum Lunn was the hero as the Blues' U18s knocked Championship club Burnley out of the FA Youth Cup at Turf Moor.

Lunn saved spot kicks from Mark Howarth and Clarets' captain Shaun Hobson as manager Stuart Searle's team triumphed 6-5 in the shoot-out after the scores had finished 2-2 at the end of extra time.

The Blues had gone behind to a Khuis Metz effort on 27 minutes, but when Tane Caubo was bundled over in the box on 79 minutes Luke Brant fired home from the spot to force extra time.

The Clarets took the lead again through Josh Dolling in the first half of extra time, but Ben Marret rose at the far post to level for the Blues in the 120th minute.

Lunn, who had been in superb form all night, denied Burnley in stoppage time to set up the shot at glory via spot kicks.

Met Police's Chris Ogunlana was the first to miss with the scores level at 4-4, but Lunn spared his blushes immediately by saving Hobson's effort to keep the Blues in the tie.

Billy Brown and Miles Fenton exchanged blows before Daniel Scantlebury fired Met Police in front and then Lunn's second save from Mark Howarth sent his side through.

Met Police are the lowest ranked team in the fourth round - Worthing play their third round fixture on Tuesday - and could yet pull the likes of Manchester United out of the hat.
