Leatherhead start their FA Cup journey this weekend, and boss Richard Brady is prepared for a banana skin.

Their hosts for the first qualifying round fixture are South Park, who ply their trade in Ryman Division One South, one level below the Tanners.

Brady’s men go into the tie on the back of four league games without a win, following Saturday’s 4-4 draw at East Thurrock United with a 1-0 defeat at Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night.

South Park, who beat Holmesdale 10-1 in the previous round, are in better form having beaten Whyteleafe 2-0 on Tuesday.

Brady said: “We all know what the FA Cup is all about, it’s all about shocks.

“There’s always one team as the underdog, it’s been us before, but this weekend we know we’re expected to win.

“South Park are a potential banana skin, and we’re expecting a tough game – you don’t score 10 goals in one game without having something about you.”

He added: “We will not be taking them for granted, we’ll prepare right and hopefully come away with the right result.”
