Hampton & Richmond Borough striker Charlie Moone was gutted to crash out of the FA Cup on Saturday, but admitted a run to the brink of the first round proper will have done the squad no end of good in the long run.

The former Woking man gave his side a 1-0 half time lead at Skrill North outfit Gloucester City, but three second half goals from the hosts handed the Beavers a 3-1 defeat and ended dreams of cup glory this season.

"It was a bit of a kick in the teeth, considering we were 1-0 up at half time. We're gutted," said Moone.

"It sounds strange to say it after a defeat, but things are coming together for us this season. We gave a good account of ourselves.

"The cup run has made us quite a tight knit squad now and we need to make sure we bounce back quickly."
