Carshalton Athletic’s caretaker manager Ian Hazel says he does not want the top spot full time.
Speaking after the Robins’ 3-0 FA Trophy win over Heybridge Swifts on Saturday, where two goals from Danny Mills and a Harry Harding strike set up a trip to King’s Lynn in the next round, Hazel said a decision on a new man is likely in around 10 days, but it will not be him.
He said: “I am happy to step in – this is the fourth time I have been caretaker – but I am not interested in being the permanent manager. I enjoy the coaching side of things too much as well as working with the academy.”
If Hazel’s 10-day prediction is right, the former Sutton United boss will still be in charge for the league visit of Bognor on Tuesday.
