AFC Croydon Athletic eased their way into the first round proper of the FA Vase with a 1-0 win over Cobham on Saturday.
However, boss Anthony Williams was left with a bittersweet aftertaste when a tepid first half display was only saved by Edward Cardona's second half header.
Williams said: "It is frustrating that it takes a management team rollicking to kick-start the lads into action.
"But the second half was much better and I am delighted with the result and to have kept a clean sheet.”
The Rams travel to Erith Town in the next round on 13th October.
