Tommy Williams picked up his first piece of silverware as a manager on Wednesday and declared “I am over the moon”.

A Dan Bennett brace, plus strikes from Scott Bonnett-Johnson and Andre McCollin, as well as an own goal, sealed a 5-0 win over Faversham Town and saw skipper Alan Inns lift up the Alan Turvey Trophy.

Ks, who are still in contention for the Ryman Premier Division play-offs, did not have it all their own way.

Faversham, of Ryman Division One South, had a goal disallowed and Ks only put the game beyond doubt with three goals in the late stages.

Williams said: “They forced a lot of corners especially in the first half and the disallowed goal was a little harsh.

“But as the game went on and got stretched we used the pockets of space well, and in the end it was deserved – we played very well.”

He added: “I am over the moon for everyone at the club who work so hard behind the scenes, and I am delighted to be able to bring them some silverware.”

In the league, Ks go to Brentwood Town this weekend, ahead of Farnborough’s visit to Kingsmeadow on Monday.

“Getting into the play-offs is in our hands, and hopefully we can take the momentum we’ve built up into the final push.”

Williams welcomes back the cup-tied Joe Turner and Mitch Pinnock, and Pelayo Pico-Gomez could also be back from injury.
