Kingstonian might have lost their past three Ryman Premier League encounters, but boss Tommy Williams insists now is not the time to panic.

Captain Alan Inns collected a second half red card for handball as Ks let a 1-0 lead slip to crash 3-1 at Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday to extend a miserable run for Ks.

Williams has vowed to sign one – possibly two – new faces ahead of the weekend trip to Burgess Hill Town as he bids to bolster a defence that has leaked 12 goals in defeats to East Thurrock United, Dulwich Hamlet and now Hampton.

But the Kingsmeadow chief said it wasn’t a sign of him pushing the panic button as he bids to keep the club’s promotion push on course.

Wimbledon Times:

Down but not out: Ks boss Tommy Williams is doing a little soul searching after four straight defeats

“There are couple of areas we need to strengthen and not just the back four,” he said.

“We have not defended from the front very well and we are already talking to a couple of players that we hope to get over the line before the weekend.

“It may well be we have to ship a couple of people out on loan for the time being to balance the books, but this is not a case of wholesale changes.

“It is just a few tweaks that we think will refresh the squad and get us back on track.”

He added: “We have had a run of three tough games against one side in good form and two teams gambling a lot of money on promotion.

“We are only four points off third spot and only two weeks ago we were joint top.

“It is still very tight. We need to get back to winning ways, but there are no panic buttons being pushed here.”

Aaron Morgan, below, put Ks ahead inside the opening five minutes on Saturday, but ex-Hampton star Inns’ departure allowed Nicke Kabamba, Kieran Murphy and Charlie Moone to seal a sixth straight league victory for Hampton.

And well as the Beavers played, Williams felt the exit of Inns for handball with his side still 1-0 up, was crucial.

“I have seen them given and I haven’t. I thought it was a bit harsh to send him off,” said the manager.

“We were on the back foot for most of the game.

“I’m not saying we would have won the game, but I am confident we would not have lost.”

Williams could not find solace in the Surrey Senior Cup on Wednesday night as Ryman Premier League rivals Leatherhead sent them crashing 1-0 at Fetcham Grove.

l Kingstonian will host either Enfield Town or Wingate & Finchley in the Robert Dyas League Cup semi-final should they beat Leiston on January 20.
